Scientific Name: Caligo idomeneus / menmon. Wingspan: 4 ½" Single framed real butterfly in a Riker Mount. In this particular frame the cotton is removed and the owl butterfly is glued to the back of the frame. The butterflies are not glued, they are gently pressed against the glass by the cotton. Riker mounts are not sealed and can be easily opened to extract or reposition the butterflies simply by removing 2-4 pins that are on the sides of the frame. Although the riker mounts aren't sealed, the butterflies will still last for many, many years as long as you keep them out of direct sunlight. All riker mounts have a sawtooth hanger on the back. Framed in the U.S. and all specimens are imported legally according to U.S. Fish and Wildlife regulations.
